Plant Structure (Plantr Morphology)

Indian Atees / Aconite/Aconitum heterophyllum

• Leaves : Simple, green in color, with serrated edges, medium elongated (oval) in shape.

• Flowers : Bluish-purple in color, bell-shaped.

• Fruits : Small pod-like fruits containing seeds.

• Stem : Straight, green, slightly delicate, with an average height of 1 to 1.5 meters.

• Root : The most useful medicinal part, thin, long, and nodular.

Properties :

 Light (Laghu), Dry (Ruksha), Lightness in nature

• Taste (Rasa) : Bitter (Tikta)

• Potency (Virya) : Hot (Ushna)

• Post-digestive effect (Vipaka) : Pungent (Katu)

• It balances all three doshas (Tridosha). It helps in reducing Vata, Kapha, and Pitta.

• Bitter Atish is considered to have true medicinal quality.

Medicinal Benefits :

Indian Atees / Aconite/Aconitum heterophyllum

• Useful in stomach pain, diarrhea, and sticky stools.

Take 100 g Bael pulp, 100 g Atish, and 100 g dry ginger powder. Mix and make powder. Take it morning and evening with buttermilk to strengthen intestines.

• For cold: Take 100 g Atish root powder, 100 g dry ginger, and 100 g turmeric. Make powder. Take 1 teaspoon powder with 1 teaspoon honey, one hour after meals.

• For dry and wet cough: Take 100 g Atish (bitter) and 100 g Kakda Sindhu. Make powder. Boil 1 teaspoon powder in 1 cup water and reduce to half. Strain, add honey, and drink like tea. Suitable for children and elderly.

• For uneasiness, vomiting, nausea, dizziness: Mix 50 g Atish and 50 g Mulethi. Take half teaspoon daily with honey.

• For skin eruptions, boils, swelling, pus: Take Atish and Manjistha powder. Consume half teaspoon morning and evening after one hour of meals.

• For fistula, piles, and inflammation of large intestine: Take Atish and Harad powder. Consume 1 teaspoon morning and evening after meals.

• For headache, mental weakness, dizziness, unconsciousness: Take 100 g Apamarg and 100 g Atish powder. Cook in 200 g sesame oil. Filter and put 3 drops in both nostrils. Massage head and neck.

• For swelling in heart, lungs, liver, or body: Take 100 g Atish, 100 g Punarnava, 100 g Gokhru. Make powder. Boil 1 teaspoon in water and take morning and evening with honey.

• For indigestion, acidity, burning, belching: Take 100 g Atish, 100 g dry ginger, and 50 g black pepper. Mix powder. Take 1 teaspoon with warm water.

• To increase immunity: Mix 100 g Amla powder, 100 g Mulethi, and 100 g Atish. Take 1 teaspoon with honey morning and evening after meals.

• For weakness, body pain, weak bones: Take 100 g Atish and 100 g Ashwagandha. Consume with cow milk.

• For intestinal worms: Mix 100 g Atish and 100 g Vavding powder. Take half teaspoon morning and evening.

Or boil 10 g Atish powder in 20–30 g coconut or mustard oil. Cool and apply with cotton to the anal area (for children).

• For male sexual problems: Mix 100 g Atish, 100 g Ashwagandha, 100 g Safed Musli, and 100 g Kunj seeds. Boil with milk and add honey.

• For chronic fever: Mix 100 g Chirayata, 100 g Giloy, and 100 g Atish powder. Boil 1 teaspoon in water and consume.

• For asthma: Mix 100 g Atish, 100 g turmeric, and 100 g Mulethi. Take morning and evening. Avoid cold and sour foods.

• If milk has bad odor: Take 100 g Atish, 100 g Shatavari, and small cardamom. Boil in milk and consume.

Side Effects / Important Note :

Indian Atees / Aconite/Aconitum heterophyllum

Do not consume in excess quantity. Take only under guidance of an Ayurvedic doctor.

For children, use only half teaspoon dose. Excess intake may cause itching, vomiting, and nausea.

“Excess is harmful” — As the name suggests, Ativish can be poisonous. When taken in proper quantity, it works like nectar.
